Re: Guns Across America protests
Lansing had a pretty good turnout from what I saw. Lots of people there, I stood for a little over 2 hours with everyone outside the capitol building. People walked up on the stairs and spoke into a mic which was connected to this awesome little horn lookin electric amplifier, which gave it this great "We, the downtrodden people" feel. Everyone who spoke made great points about liberty, the necessity of the 2nd amendment, and our will to fight for it, minus a man who spoke about Satanism (?). The speakers were diverse, there was a good mix of age and gender, young and old, a lot more younger people than I would have imagined actually. It seemed organized, though there was very little organizing done from what I understand. People really showed a lot of enthusiasm for protecting the 2nd amendment, and protecting freedom in general. There was a lot of encouragement to talk to your fellow man, pat him on the back, introduce yourself. There was talk of coming social change, tyranny, oppression, and revolution through that little amp, and everyone there, whether they were armed or not, cheered together in acknowledgement that if we were to have a war to fight in the near future, we would be bound to brotherhood to our friends, neighbors, family, and even strangers. It was great to hear people speak their minds and be so greatly supported. There is no doubt in my mind that the next march there is will have twice as many people as I saw today, and that makes me a happy man.
